aKido, (aka Kim Gaboury) is a French Canadian composer, guitarist and producer exploring the edges of rock and electronic music. His debut album Playtime was released in 2004, followed by Blink in 2007, both on his label Nordique. He assembles a band to tour with featuring Joyce on vocals and sampler, Serge Nakauchi Pelletier (Pawa up First, Beast) on drums and Jonathan Dauphinais (Perkins, Beast) on keybass.

aKido's music receives significant airplay throughout Canadian college radios and is praised by critics, such as Claude Rajotte (SRC), Monique Giroux (SRC) and Stephane Martel (Voir). His tracks are featured on national television (The Best Years, Mange Ta Ville, Artv), national radio (Radio-Canada/CBC), and indie movies including the award-winning movie Broadcast. He's has been the recipient of several awards (CMCC New artist, Grafika, Sherbrooke Short-Film Festival, Glitch Fest) and nominations (Golden Reel Award by the Motion Pictures Sound Editors in Hollywood, CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards, Indie Music Video Award). aKido recently contributed remixes to ADIDAS's House Party campaign, remixing the classic track Beggin'.

aKido performed many high profile shows in the last few years, including the Montreal International Jazz Fest, Sirius Canada Launch, CBC Radio 3/Bande-a-part tour and the Festi-Jazz de Rimouski.

Forthcoming projects include a third album and an international tour.
